Workers to mediate better pay or to reduce hours and strikes got banned
What happened to those who supposed the labor front ?
Rounded up and taken to concentration camps for ‘re education’
What did the Reich Labor Service make compulsory ?
Six months labor service for men aged 19-25
Was the strength through joy effective ?
Somewhat
Few workers could afford the cruises produced
Beauty of Labor caused much resentment as workers had to carry out improvements in their spare time- without pay
Why was the Volkswagen scheme to affective ?
It was a con trick
Despite being encouraged to put aside money every week by the time war broke out in 1939 not 1 customer had received a car
None of the money could be refunded
What happened to the cost of living ?
It increased greatly during the 1930’s
All basic groceries in 39 were more then they were in 33
Why were food items in short supply ?
Partly due to the Nazi governments policy to reduce agricultural production
This kept prices high for farmers
How did hours of work change ?
They increased for 42.9 per week in 1933
