What is the purpose of the change theme?
Identify, asses and control any potential and approved changes to Project baseline
What is a baseline?
Reference levels against which an entity is monitored and controlled
Define issue…
Anything during a project which unless resolved, will result in a change to a baselined product, plan, or performance target
What are the 3 types of issue that may arise during a project:
1) Request for change
2) Off-specification
3) Problem or concern
What is a “request for change”
A proposal to change a baseline (CHANGE)
What is “off specification”
Something that should be provided, but is currently or is forecast not to be, provided (MISSING PRODUCT)
Problem or concern
Any other matter which requires the PM to resolve or maybe escalate to the project board (MINOR BUT NOTED)

Records documentation information about a product, such as:

Records problems, concerns and possible required action about the Project where the PM can manage informally
What is an Issue Report
Formal. A report which captures the description, impact assessment and recommendations for 3 types issue.
What is an Issue Register
Where the Issue reports will be documented
What are the 5 steps in the change control procedure?
1) Capture
2) Assess
3) Propose
4) Decide
5) Implement
What is Capture?
Issue is analysed, to see if it can be handled informally. If so, handled in daily log.
If not, issue report is raised and entered into issue register
What is Assess
Impact analysis on:
Project performance targets
Project business case
Project risk profile
Results are put on the Issue Register and issue report
What is Propose
Suggested actions, considering:
Effects on Time, cost and risk
What is Decide
Make a decision on the appropriate course of action
Note, the POM might be bale to do this, or it will need to be delegated to the project board
What is Implement
Amend the plans or work packages and create an exception plan for approval by the project board
