ACMP launched in 2011 providing practitioners with a professional association devoted to helping them advance the discipline and increase change effectiveness worldwide.

There are 3 components required to be a profession:

1. development of a unique set of professional standards
2. creation and maintenance of certification process
3. establish guidelines which govern the profession as a whole

The ACMP has adopted the CM Professional code of ethics which articulates the minimum expectations for professional conduct for CM practitioners and establishes guidelines for behaviors, and understanding for how to identify and resolve ethical dilemmas.

What is the purpose of ACMP’s code of ethics?

To guide the professional conduct of members, holders, and applicants of ACMP certifications, volunteers, ACMP Qualified Training Providers (QEPTM), staff, and contracted resources.

The code of ethics addresses specific professional conduct for every individual bound by this code.

ACMP’s code of ethics promotes ethical practices in the profession. CM professionals are responsible for adding value to the orgs they serve and ethically contribute to the success of those orgs.

Change practitioners accept personal responsibility for their decisions and actions.

Each section in the code of ethics includes mandatory tenets that establish firm requirements, and in some cases, limit or prohibit specific behaviors.

Practitioners who do not follow these tenets may be subject to disciplinary measures.

Adjudication Process

The ACMP will appoint an Ethics Inquiry Taskforce to review inquiries/complaints.

Ethical inquiries/complaints will be submitted through the Ethics Inquiry form, reviewed, and adjudicated through the Ethics Inquiry Taskforce with findings reported to the complainant/inquirer and the ACMP BOD.

Violations may result in sanctions.
