Blockage of a meibomian gland
Linked to blepharitis

Signs:
A
Hard swelling
Localised greyish area in tarsal conjunctiva (on lid eversion)

Symptoms:
A
No pain
Possibly blurred vision & corneal distortion

Management:
A
Hot compress
Advise on lid hygiene
If accessed refer for incision & antibiotics
Refer to GP: routinely
