Categorization

Labels or numbers that are used to track categories
Comparaison
Analyzing the differences and similarities in themes, passages and participants
Credibility
The quality that comes from making a final report that’s accurate, and believable
Cross-researcher reliability
The degree of similarity in coding of the same data by different researchers
Data reduction
Categorization + coding of tata that is part of the theory development in qualitative data
Eric validity
An attribute that affirms that key members within a culture/sub agree w/ findings of research report
Integration
The process of moving from identification of themes/categories to development theory
Iteration
Working through the data several times in order to modify early ideas
Member checking
Asking informants to read the researchers report and verify that the analysis is accurate
Memoing
Writing down thoughts as soon as possible after each interview, focus group
Negative case analysis
Looking for cases that contradicts the ideas and theories that researchers have been developing
Peer review
Process in which external qualitative methodology specialists are asked to review the research analysis
They’re basically asking specialists to review
Recursive
A relationship in which a variable can both cause and be caused by the same variable
