got the US, Articles of Confederation (led to constitution), new gov. w/ seperation of poweres, sep. of state/church. colonists had ideas of republicanism, self-rule, and am rev. further extended the ideas
what were the central ideas of the atlantic revs, who would take action based on those ideas, and who would these ideas be used against?
central idea- the englightenment. all atlantic revs were united bc they were against monarchies/divinely selected by god

enlightenment ideas led to movement. feared by slave/plantation overs in haiti/sout am. because threatened their way of getting money/providing for fam.
what countries would experience major social transformations during the industrial rev?
britain, us, japan. introduced middle class that benefitted from ind. rev- they were very protective of property (which is why socialism/communism didnt spread easily) aristocracy power threatened bc of bankers, factory owners, etc.
latin/russian rev- no middle class emerged, socialism common
how did aristocracies have their power?
through titles and land ownership
how did the industrial rev. affect latin am nations?
still had divergence between rich/poor. forbid foreign companies from owning property & focused on ag. rather than industrial products. very dependent on exporting food/raw goods
what became the role of latin am nations due to the industrial rev?
they became primarily an exporter on food/raw goods
what crisis did the industrial rev solve and how?
energy crisis due to nonrenewable resources like wood being used. steam engine solved it, but eventually coal, oil, + natural gas took over
who was karl marx and hwat was his critique of society and what was his solution to the ills of society?
believed capitalism would collapse because it couldnt answer the problems of society. said communism would create a society without classes.
what were the major reasons that socialism didnt spread easily in the US?
americans liked the idea of private property/middle class stopped socialism from spreading.
what were the major changes that the industrial rev brought society?
introduction of new classes, products, and goods.
primarily the middle class.
