What does PJC stand for
Premature Junctional Complex
What is a Premature Junctional Complex?
Caused by single early impulse in the AV Junction. Occurs before the next expected sinus impulse causing an irregularity
How to identify a PJC
Rhythm irregular
P Wave if seen is inverted
What may happen if PJC occurs more than 4-6 times per minute
May cause hypertension
Junctional Escape Rhythm
SA node fails to initiate the electrical activity and one of the backup Pacemaker sites takes over
How to identify a Junctional Escape Rhythm
P Wave is inverted
Rhythm regulated
Heart rate 40-60 bpm
How to identify an Accelerated Junctional Rythm
Inverted or absent P Wave
Regular rhythm
Rate 60-100 bpm
How to identify
Junctional Tachycardia
Regular rhythm/ rate 100-180 bpm
P waves are inverted or not seen
What does SVT stand for
Supraventricular Tachycardia
How to identify
Supraventricular Tachycardia
Looks like chairs
Rate of 150-250 bpm
Rhythm regular
