I there is a problem( financial crisis, terrorist attack, environmental) the people look to the president to solve the problem
What is the irony in what the American people look to the president to solve?
The president is constrained by the constitutional system( checks and balances), opposition in congress, resistance I’m doing the things promised, even though he makes a good effort

What does the president do as head of the state?
The president represents the u.s as the ceremonial head of national gov. It gives him public exposure and public support
What does the president do as chief executive?
Power of appointment and removal. Power to grant reprieves and pardons
What does the president do as commander in chief?
The president is the ultimate decision maker in military attacks because only the president has the final responsibility for military decisions. Congress has power to declare war
What does the president do as chief diplomat?
Executive agreements, diplomatic recognition, the president will determine which gov the us will recognize
What does the president do as chief legislator?
- Creates congressional agenda-union address

What is line-item veto?
Allows the president to review a piece of legislation and oppose only certain issues in it without rejecting the entire bill
Does the constitution detail the power of the president?
Article 3 says the executive power shall be vested int the president if the us. Short and simple.
What type of system did the framers create?
The MADISONIAN SYSTEM

Statuary powers, expressed powers, and inherent powers.
