Use 还是 to mean or but only in questions.

你吃米饭还是（吃）饺子？
我吃饺子。

Note that the second verb (in parentheses) is optional

你喝不喝茶？不喝。

subject: 《你》吃还是《他》吃？

predicate: 今天《星期二》还是《星期三》？

attributive： 他是《法国人》还是《加拿大》人？

adverbial： 你早上《六点》起床还是《七点》起床？
