What is shock?
A
Organs and tissues in the body do not receive an adequate blood supply.

Myocardial infarction (MI)
A
The heart muscle itself does not receive enough oxygen because blood vessels are blocked.

Signs/symptoms of MI
A
Sudden, severe pain, pressure, or squeezing in the chest, usually on left side or in the center.
Pain/discomfort in other areas of the body, such as one or both arms, the back, neck, law, or stomach.
Indigestion or heartburn
Shortness of breath
Dizziness
Pale or cyanotic color of skin or mucous membranes, indicating lack of oxygen.
Perspiration
Cold and clammy skin
Weak and irregular pulse rate
Low blood pressure
