includes:
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
systematic observation
case studies,
archival research
naturalstic observation,,
survey research
2
Q
qualitative observational research
A
focused on people behaving in natural settings and describing their experiences in their own words
3
Q
quantitative observational research
A
focused on specific behaviors that can easily be measured or counted
4
Q
Naturalistic observation
A
- field work
- observe individuals in their natural enviornment
- data is generally qualitative, aiming for a complete and accurate picture of what occured, raher than a test of a hypothesis might observe from the outside (nonparticipant observation), or become an active part of the group (participant observation)
5
Q
Systematic Observation
A
- careful observation of one or more specific behaviors in a particular setting
- gather quantitative data (develop a coding system)
6
Q
Case Study
A
- detailed description of an individual
- uasually one person but could be one group
7
Q
Archival Research
A
- using already existing data in a new analysis to answer a research question
