What is the difference between outcome and goal?
Outcome= used alone, means any patient response (positive or negative) to interventions
Goal= referring to a positive patient response
(other words to use synonymously with goal are expected outcome, desired outcome, predicted outcome)
How do we write a goal for our patient in our care plan?
“The patient will….”
Example: The patient will walk to the doorway with the help of one person by 2:00p.m on Tuesday.
