What is data?
The raw, unprocessed numbers, symbols, or words that have no meaning by themselves
EX: 101–could be temp, age, BP number, etc.

How do you get information?
Data first, then group your data, then you have your information
Define: Formed when data are grouped creating meaningful information and relationships which are then added to other structured information

How does wisdom develop?
An outcome of your clinical experience, theoretical knowledge, critical thinking, and intuition

What are the cons to EHR?

- Hard to use and not well engineers for clinical work flow
- Costly
- Hard to use for the computer illiterate or those who have a discomfort with technology
How can computers reduce barriers to EBP?
- Provides fast, easy access, 24 hours a day, to current info from around the world
- Nurses need access to wide variety and large amounts of info
- Provides online resources
