components of body image
- perceptual/cognitive: what we know or think we know about the body
- affective: the attitudinal or emotional components of body image
-behavioral: appearance management behaviors that are undertaken in response to our perceptions and feelings of the body

size, age and combination of physcial attributes that society has deemed most desirable
