Ch 2 Flashcards
Approaching your level-off altitude use how much of the VVI
10%
For climb or descent rates of 2000 or more, at 1000 feet prior to the level off altitude it is a good technique to?
Cut pitch picture in half
Rate climbs and descents are similar to constant airspeed climbs and descents but require a constant VVI. Use what rule to figure out VVI
- Knots/ 60 min to get NM/MIN
- use 60 to 1 rule ( 1 degree change = 100’ VVI change)
- IE ( 300K/ 60 = 5 NM/MIN = 1 degree = 500 VVI)
The vertical “S”- C
direction of turn is reversed at the beginning of each descent
Instrument Aileron Roll
15-25 NH
smooth roll, but it changes
reach wings lvl inverted at horizon
match NH pitch with NL
Unusual Attitudes in instruments
unusual attitude is an aircraft attitude occurring inadvertently
Do not add back pressure until less than ____ of bank when performing a nose low recovery
until less than 90 degrees
