years to happen, third most common, PAP smear, dysplasia-> cancer cells

Risk factors
A
- HPV infection
- multiparity
- first pregnancy before 17
- smoking
- family Hx
- oral contraceptives
- history of STDs
- immunocompromised

Screening/diagnosis
A
- pap smear
- HPV vaccine
- pelvic exam
- colposcopy- if pt has dysplasia cells-> they go in and take pieces of abnormal cells

Signs/symptoms
A
- painless, vaginal bleeding
- unexplained weight loss
- dysuria/hematuria
- pelvic pain
- rectal bleeding

Treatment
A
- cervical ablation/laser surgery- vaporize tissue, cause bleeding, cant do biopsy afterward
- Loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP)- electrical impulse to cut away tissue
- cryosurgery- freeze and slough off
- conization- scrape away small area
- hysterectomy
- radiation
- chemo
