Cervical Compression Test (Axial Load)
compression of facet joints
stenosis
Spurling Test
Axial load - lateral bending
nerve root impipngement by narrowing of neural foramina (pn will be unilateral)
Cervical Distraction Test
pain should be relieved
compression of facet joints/ stenosis of neural foramina
Verterbral Artery Test
causes dizziness, confusion,nystagmus, pupil changes, nausea
oclusion of the cervical vertebral artery
Shoulder Abduction Test
hold for 30 sec; decrease in symptoms
herniated disk or nerve root compression
Brachial Plexus Traction test
brachial plexia neurplaxia (blockage of nerve conduction)
pain on stretched side: stretching of brachial plexus
pain on side not stretched: copression of the cervical nerve roots between 2 vertebrae
Adson’s Test for TOC
diminished pulse - subclavian artery is occluded between scalenes and pec minor
Allen Test for TOC
pulse diminished - pec minor compression neurovascular bundle
Military Brace Position For TOC
pulse diminished
subclavian artery blocked by costclavicular structures of the shoulder
ROOS
3 minutes
TOC
Halstead’s
similiar to military brace for TOC, with head turned towards opposite side being pulled back
