Describe the GMFCS
A
1- near normal GMF. Independent ambulatory
2- walks independently but with limitations
3- dependent ambulatory
4- minimal walking ability. Adult assisted or lowered devices for community ambulation
5- non-ambulatory with global involvement. Totally dependent.

Types of CP
A
Spastic - velocity dependent increased muscle tone and hyperreflexia with slow movement due to simultaneous firing of agonist and antagonist muscles
Athetoid - constant slow, writhing involuntary movements
Ataxic - inability to coordinate movements. Wide based gait
Mixed - spastic and athetoid of whole body
Hypotonic - usually precedes spastic or ataxic by 2-3 years
Quadriplegic
Diplegic
Hemiplegic
