Corrects movement, controls dizziness, and n/v

Romberg
Have the pt. stand erect with feet together and arms at sides, first with eyes open
Have pt. close their eyes, tap their shoulder to see if they can maintain balance.
Should remain erect without swaying or moving feet
Ataxia
impaired muscle coordination
Dysdiadokokinesia
Inability to change direction of movement
Dysmetria
Inability to control movement, brusque, can’t measure where to put limbs
Dyssynergia
Inability to perform movements smoothly
Cerebellar gait
wide based walk with arms not coordinated
Pediatric
May not be able to some tests developmentally
Note frequent falls or reversal of skills
OA
Dec. in coordination
Voluntary movements slowed
Slower reaction times
