- Naturally become Tired
- Strain on eyes (causing tiredness and stress)
Effects of night driving on your vehicle (3)
Ensure Windows, mirrors and light lenses are clear
Ensure all lights work and are alligned
Ensure washers, wipers and demisters all work
When to use main beam at night? (1)
On all unlit roads, only dip for other road users
When to use dipped headlights? (3)
- Built up areas with street lights
- Where dipped is more effective (e.g. left bend or hump bridge
- Heavy rain, snow or fog, where full beam causes light reflection
When should you switch to full beam when overtaking? (1)
- When parallel with the other road user
Stopping rule at night?
Alway ensure you are able to stop in the distance you see to be clear on your side of the road, at night this is the distance lit by your headlights
Satnav Requirments? (3)
- Position so it doesnt dazzle you
- Doesnt obstruct view
- Use oral prompts
How to deal with Dazzle (3)
- Focus on nearside edge of road
- Reduce Speed
- Stop if neccesary

Posititioned in every other gap
Reflective Studs on Hazards lines?
Positioned in every gap
Reflective Studs on Double white lines
2x the amount as Hazard Lines
Other ways to improve night driving? (3)
- Keep low speed leaving brightly lit areas to allow eyes time to adjust
- Limit use of any interior lighting
- Check any glasses with optiican as tinted or photochromatic or tinted lenses may impead view
