How would you define cellulitis ?
A
A diffuse skin condition involving the deep dermis and subcutaneous fat.

What are the signs and symptoms ?
A
Erythematous rash with no distinct border.
Fever
Regional lymphadenopathy.

What would be in the investigations ?
A
Clinical diagnosis
Bacterial swab of wound
USS of affected area (limb)

How would you treat it ?
A
Anti staph and anti strep antibiotics i.e. Vancomycin or Flucloxacillin.
If extensive should admit patient for IV antibiotics.
