Cells And The Microscope Flashcards
Plant cells have-
Chloroplasts, cell wall, large central vacuole.
All cells have-
Cell membrane, cytoplasm, nucleus, small vacuole.
Cytoplasm-
Watery fluid gives support to the cell
Nucleus-
Controls the cell’s activities
Cell membrane-
Allows things into and out of the cell
Cell wall-
Gives strength to the plant cells
Chloroplasts-
Contain chlorophyll to help make plant food
Vacuole-
Space containing water, sugar, wastes
Microscope-
Used to magnify or make things bigger. 4 main parts: eyepiece, stage, objective lens, focus knobs.
Eyepiece-
To look through and magnify
Focus knob-
To focus the slide
Stage-
To put the slide on
Objective lens -
To magnify
Tissue-
Group of similar cells with a special function
Organ-
Group of different tissues working together
