Q

Cell cycle - STEP 1

A

the cells grows - increases the number of cells organelles

- to allow enough space for duplication

Cell cycle - STEP 2

A

the genetic material (chromosomes) copy/double - so they become X - shaped

Q

Cell cycle - STEP 3

A

PART OF MITOSIS
the chromosomes line up in the centre of the cell and cell fibres pull them apart, the copied chromosomes separate (so their are now two identical sets of 23 pairs of chromosomes)

Q

Cell cycle - STEP 4

A

PART OF MITOSIS
membranes form round the each of the sets of chromosomes forming the nuclei, the nucleus divides into two (that contains the chromosomes)
