Scrooge’s heart is stirred by compassion by the plight of Tiny Tim who is still cheerful eventhough he’s disabled

begins to see poor and sick as real humans with value and dignity, not an abstract concept that suck money
- not assigns a face to the poor

  • willingness to overlook the destitute prolongs social problem of poverty
  • poor and unable to escape due to lack of education

requires more vigilance to overcome because it requires lasting change of heart from the privileges(want can be relieved temporarily)

by forcing the needy into workhouses and prisons, cycle of poverty only perpetuates itself
