Strengths
- NICE (2014) meta-analysis showed CBT reduced hospitalisation rates for up to 18 months and reduced average time spet
- Kuipers (1997) found that drug-resistant clients improved when given CBT focused on delusions and hallucinations
Weaknesses
- NICE’s meta-analysis used only quantitative data, overlooking the unique experiences of those in therapy
- McKenna & Kingdon (2014) with routine treatment and found CBT was only superior in 2/9 conditions
