Learn more about the CF34-10E high bypass Turbofan Engines
Engine
What type of engines are mounted on the EMB195?
AOM Volume 2 - 14-06-01 “
GENERAL DESCRIPTION”
The General Electric CF34-10E7 is a high-bypass and dual rotor turbofan, fully integrated with a nacelle and thrust reverse.
Engine
How much thrust does the CF34-10E7 provide?
SAS Link operates the 10E7 model.
AOM Volume 2 - 14-06-30 “THRUST RATINGS TABLE”
The CF34-10E7 incorporates the aerodynamic efficiency of wide Cord Fan, which produces most of the Engine’s 13,830 Lbs - 18,500 Lbs maximum thrust.

Operational Speeds
Maximum cruise speed ?
Missing reference!
0.82 M
Nose landing gear
Maximum steering angle ?
AOM Volume 2 - 14-13-25 “HANDWHEEL STEERING MODE”
Steering angle varies from ±76° up to 40 kt decreasing linearly to ±7° at 100 kt.
Landing gear
Maximum turning widt with full deflection on the nosewheel?
AOM Volume 2 - 14-13-25
With a full deflection of the Nose Wheel, the Aircraft can theoretically turn on taxiways as narrow as 22.68 m.
Note that the largest clearance is required by the Tail, which is not visible. In a maximum turn, either the left or the right MLG remains stationary, marking the center of the turn.
Main panel
What is the different panels called in the cockpit?
Missing reference
- Primary Flight Display (PFD 1/2)
- Multi Function Display (MFD1/2)
- Engine Indication and Crew Alerting System Display (EICAS)
Optional Water Dump Button
Where is the the Optional Water Dump Button found?
Missing reference
On the co-pilot side in the cockpit
Where are the MAUs located?
Modular Avionics Unit
AOM Volume 2 - 14-01-25 “MODULAR AVIONICS UNIT (MAU)”
MAU 1 and 2 are located in the forward Electronics Bay, whereas MAU 3 is located in the center Electronics Bay.
Lavatories
Where can you find a baby changing table
In the rear toilet
Emergency Locator Transmitter
When the ELT is active, a continuous flashing light will be present on the ELT Remote Switch panel.
If a fault is detected, the light provides the following coded signals (after initial 1-second pulse):
“EMERGENCY LOCATOR TRANSMITTER (ELT)”
- 1 flash indicates a “G-switch loop open” failure.
- 3 flashes indicate a 406 MHz transmitter problem.
- 7 flashes indicate a Battery problem.
Potable Water System
What is the primary pressure of pressurinzing the potable water system?
Missing reference!
Bleed air pressure from the Engine or APU is used as the primary pressure source of the system
Potable Water System
Where is the the potable water storage tank located?
Missing reference!
The potable water storage tank is located under floor behind the aft Cargo Compartment
Potable Water System
How long would it take to drain the Potable Water Tank in air via the Water Dump push button?
Missing reference
The full drainage of the system may take up to 10 minutes.
Potable Water System
Where is the service point located for the Vacuum Waste System?
Missing reference!
The Vacuum Waste Sytestem is serviced through the single service panel on the aft right-hand side of the aircraft.
Lighting
What power unit provides emergency lighting
Missing reference!
The DC power units
External lighting
What external lights subsystems is fitted?
Missing reference!
- Landing lights
- 3 taxi lights (2 lights on “side” and 1 light on “nose”)
- Navigation lights
- Inspection lights
- Logo lights
- Anti-collision lights.
External lighting
What happens if the Nose Gear Taxi light is on and the gear is retracted?
Missing reference
The Nose Gear Taxi light will automatically ex**tinguish if the Nose Gear is not in the down locked position.
Pressurazation
The NO SMOKING and FASTEN SEATBELT signs will illuminate automatically in case of depressurization or the cabin altitude exceeds?
Missing reference
14,000 ft.
Interiour lighting
The Attendant Call Panel contains the Attendant Call Lights, which provide visual indication to the Attendant when a call from the Pilots or Passengers is received. What are the different colours?
AOM Volume 2 - 14-01-40 “ATTENDANT LIGHTS (RAINBOW LIGHTS)”
- Yellow: Pilot (Sterile light)
- Green: Pilot
- Red: Pilot (Emergency)
- Blue: Passenger
- Orange: Toilet
Interior lighting
When normal Aircraft power is not available, for example on ground with the APU not running, it is still possible to use the Courtesy Lights and DC Ceiling Lights. In this case, the Hot Bus provides power to these Lights. To conserve Battery power, these Lights operate on a X minute cycle?
AOM Volume 2 - 14-01-22 “COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH”
5 minutes
Interior lighting
The Emergency lighting system is powered by six Emergency Light Power Units (ELPUs), what do they do?
AOM Volume 2 - 14-01-40 “EMERGENCY LIGHTING”
- Manually, by pressing the ON/Armed switch to ON, which must be set to the armed position again after 70 seconds,
- Automatically, by just pressing and releasing the Test Button. In this case, the system will automatically return to the armed position after 60 seconds.
- The ELPUs enable emergency illumination for at least 10 minutes. The ELPUs are recharged by the DC Busses.
Emergency lighting
A dedicated battery powers the escape slide lights, which will be on for a minimum of X minutes even after escape slide disconnection.
