A
Something (usually associated with inflammation or dryness) in skin that triggers itch.

Neuropathic
A
Damage of any sort to central or peripheral nerves that causes itch.

Neurogenic
A
No evident damage in the CNS, but itch caused by e.g. opiate effects on CNS receptors.

Psychogenic
A
Psychological causes with no CNS damage- feelings of infestation.
