➊ Lens becomes cloudy and opaque, therefore reducing visual acuity by decreasing the amount of light that enters the eye

➋ Age, Smoking, Alcohol, DM

➌ With the red reflex during the neonatal examination

➊ • Asymmetrical, progressive, painless vision loss
Blurred vision
• Halos around lights

➋ • Loss of Red Reflex
• Reduced visual acuity

➌ Surgery – Remove lens and replace it with an artificial lens
