Very overpowering for cats.
Often not performed in the correct way.
Cats quickly build a negative association.

How should you approach a hospitalised cat?
A
Stay calm, and approach the cat quietly and calmly.
Assess the cats behaviour beforehand.
Slowly place your hand towards the cat, to allow them to assess if you are a ‘safe’ person.
Start stroking the cats head if tolerated.
