Levels of the Psyche
Images sensedbytheegoaresaidtobeconscious. The ego thus represents the conscioussideofpersonality,andinthepsychologicallymatureindividual,the ego is secondary to the self.
Conscious
embraces all repressed, forgotten, or subliminally perceived experiences of one particular individual. It contains repressed infantile memories and impulses, forgotten events, and experiences originally perceived below the threshold of our consciousness.
Personal Unconsciousness
In contrast to the personal unconscious, which results from individual experiences, the ______ unconscious has roots in the ancestral past of the entire species. It represents Jung’s most controversial, and perhaps his most distinctive, concept.
Collective unconscious
The physical contents of the collective unconscious are inherited and pass from one generation to the next as psychic potential.

dark side of personality we hide (negative)
Shadow
Feminine side of men (ideal type)
Anima
Masculine side of women (ideal type)
Animus
archetype pf nourishment and destruction(evident in women)
Great Mother
Archetype of wisdom and meaning (in men)
Wise old man
the image we have of a conqueror (courage, integrity, can conquer challenges)
Hero
the image we have of fullfilment completion or perfection (center archetype) “I, me” it unites them in process of self-realization (our ideal image)

Progression- striving towards self-realization
Regression-(good thing) can go back to the past and redo all the kistakes for improvement to achieve better self realization
focus into their inner world with all its biases, fantasies, dreams and indicidualized perceptions
Introversion attitude
are more influenced by their surroundings than inner world
Extroverted
Function: perception beyond the working consciousness (guts, hunches)
Intuition
Function:reveives physical stimuli and transmits them to perceptual consciousness
Sensation
Function:evaluating idea or event(personal belief)
Feeling
Funxtion: logical intellectual activity produces chain of ideas (posible to happen)
Thinking
Childhood substages: has little awareness
Anarchic Phase
Childhood substages: starting to develop the ego and beginning of logical and verbal thinking like asking and communication(forming awareness)
Monarchic Phase
Substages: the ego is divided into subjective and objective (starting to search towards self realization) (sense of identity)
Dualistic Phase
13-35or 40 years old the independent stage where we find a mate raise a family, make a place in the world
Youth
35 or 40- 60 years old, the restless questioning stage where we have the opportunity to grow and develop
Middle Life
60-Death the reflecting stage wisdom and the period of spiritual awakening
Old Age
it involves psychological rebirth into a unifies or whole individual, it represents highest level of himan development
