What do you see in CVS examination from end of bed?
A
- ECGs
- GTN
- Scars e.g. throacotomy, sternotomy,
- pacemaker

What do you see in CVS examination in the hands?
A
- Clubbing
- ?infective endocarditis signs e.g. splinter haemorrhages, janeway lesions, oslers nodes

What do you see in the face on CVS examination?
A
malor flush (mitral stenosis, co2 retention –> vasodilation)

What do you see in the eyes on CVS examination?
A
xanthelasma
corneal arcus
anaemia (conjunctival pallor)

What do you see in the mouth on CVS examination?
A
Central cyanosis
dental hygiene
dehydration

What is RILE in CVS?
A
RI = right sided murmurs are heard better on INSPIRATION e.g. inspiration increases venous return LE = left sided murmurs are heard better on EXPIRATION so all CVS exam exacerbating movement checks e.g. mitral and aortic are louder on EXPIRATION
