Cardiovascular: Diagnostics
-LAB CBC: Hgb and Hct only. Drawn on every patient almost every day
-LAB FLP
-Chest X-ray: Heart size and fluid accumilation
-Electrocardiography (ECG or EKG)
Hemoglobin
-The iron containing pigment of red blood cells. Need hemoglobin in order for O2 to travel on RBC
Hematocrit
The percentage of total volume of blood that is made up of RBC’s
ECG or EKG
-Reflects Normal Conduction
-Normal Sinus Rhythm
-Snapshot in time
Telemetry
Monitor heart activity on ongoing bases. Watch the patients heart rhythm.
Telemetry: Electrode placement
Upper, Lower, Upper, Lower, Middle
White on right, Snow over grass, Smoke over fire, and chocolate next to my heart

-Risk for unstable blood pressure
-Activity intolerance
-Decreased CO
-Risk for Decreased cardiac output
-Ineffective tissue perfusion
-Risk for decrease tissue perfusion

-Impaired has exchange
-Fluid Volume excess or deficit

-Ineffective health maintenance

-Avoid smoking and consumption of Alc

-Nutrition and Exercise
Hemoglobin Levels
Male: 12-26
Female: 14-18
Hematocrit levels
Woman: 37 - 47%
Men: 42-52%
Murmurs
Swishing sounds and is a problem with a valve.
