Allergy ventricular tachycardia heart block sick sinus syndrome acute MI P & L

Adverse Effects
HA, weakness, vision changes - yellow halo
GI upset - anorexia
Bradyarrhythmia

DDI
Verapamil, amiodarone, quinidine, cyclosporine, K+ loss diuretics, charcoal, methotrexate

Specific Nursing Considerations
Check reflexes
Avoid IM injection
Monitor apical pulse for full min - hold for <60 bpm
Admin IV over 5 minutes minimum
Weigh pt everyday same time AM
Emergency equipment: K+ salts, lidocaine, phenytoin, atropine, cardiac monitor
Obtain digoxin levels ( 2-3)
