- Mild tricuspid anomaly
- Mild cardiac enlargement
- Mild RV dysfunction
Congenital Heart Disease DQ
- Symptomatic
- More than mild anomaly
- Intracardiac Lesion (ASD)
- Shunt
- Symptomatic arrhythmia
- Accessory conduction pathway
*may certify after surgical intervention
Heart Transplant Waiting & Certification Period
Waiting: 1 year
Max Cert: 6 months
Heart Transplant Cert Requirements
- Asymptomatic
- Tolerates Meds
- Cleared
- No signs of transplant rejection
- Re-evaluate q 6 months
Cardiomyopathy
DISQUALIFY if:
1. Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
2. Restrictive cardiomyopathy
AAA Waiting & Certification Period
Waiting: 3 months post-surgical repair
Max Cert: 1 year
*should undergo annual US to monitor size
AAA Certification Requirements
- Asymptomatic
- < 4cm
- > 4cm but < 5cm with clearance
AAA DQ
- Symptomatic regardless of size
- Recommendation for surgical repair by specialist
- > 4cm but < 5cm but without clearance
- > 5cm
- Increase of size > 0.5cm in 6 months
Thoracic Aneurysm Waiting & Certification Period
Waiting: 3 months post-surgical repair
Max Cert: 1 year
Thoracic Aneurysm Cert Requirements
- < 5cm
- Asymptomatic
- Clearance
Acute DVT Certification Period
1 year
Chronic Thrombotic Venous Certification Period & Requirements
Max Cert: 2 years
Certify if Asymptomatic
Intermittent Claudication Waiting & Certification Period
Waiting: 3 months post-surgical repair
Max Cert: 1 year
Intermittent Claudication Certification Requirements and DQ
- Sx improved after surgery
DQ if driver continues to have pain at rest
Superficial Phlebitis
Certification Period
Max Cert: 2 years
Self limited
Rule out DVT
Varicose Veins
Varicose veins alone do not disqualify a driver
