A

Reduces platelet aggregation and reduces thrombus formation, can reverse clots e.g. asprin and clopidogrel

Anti-coagulants, what three types are there?

A
  • Vitamin K antagonists e.g. warfarin (can increase bone fractures)
  • Thrombin inhibitor e.g. Dabigatran
  • Heparin e.g. Heparin, Enoxaparin sodium (Clexane, inhixa)
  • All will prevent clots but not reverse them
