Cardiac Flashcards
Troponin I
Troponin T
What are the normal values?
What does the test indicate?
Troponin I: Negative <0.5, Intermediate 0.5-2.3, Pos >2.3
Troponin T: <0.1
Contractile proteins that are released after a MI. These markers are highly specific to cardiac tissue.
CK-MB
What are the normal values?
What does the test indicate?
> 4%-6% are highly indicative of MI.
Cardiospecific isoenzyme that is released in the presence of myocardial tissue injury.
Myoglobin
What are the normal values?
What does the test indicate?
Male: 15.2-91.2
Female: 11.1-57.5
Low molecular weight protein that is 99%-100% sensitive for myocardial injury.
C-reactive Protein?
What are the normal values?
What does the test indicate?
Low: <1 mg/L
Moderate: 1-3 mg/L
High: >3 mg/L
A marker of inflammation that can predict risk of cardiac disease and events.
Normal Value: Cholesterol
<200 mg/dL
Normal Value: Triglycerides
<150 mg/dL
Normal Value: HDL
Male: >40 mg/dL
Female: >50 mg/dL
Normal Value: LDL
Recommended: <100mg/dL
Near Optimal: 100-129mg/dL
Moderate Risk: 130-159mg/dL
High Risk: >160mg/dL
