What is the long term vision ?
To have a safe road free of death and serious injury
Police is taking a a safe system approach to road safety which has objectives to ?(3)

- Manage forces in a crash that a human body can tolerate
- minimise the level of unsafe road user behaviour.

Who is responsible for the Safe System?
Road safety is everyone’s responsibility.
Road policing action plan 18-21:
If adherence to the action plan is followed will enable Police to achieve what?

Fleeing driver policy:
What is the over arching principle in relation to the immediate apprehension of a fleeing Driver?
The safety of the public and employees.
What constitutes a fleeing driver?
A driver who has been indicated to stop by and officer but fails to do so.
Once a pursuit has been perminently abandoned no further attempt to signal the vehicle to stop will be be made unless approval is given by whom?
Pursuit controller
Who is the pursuit controller?
The shift commander at Police Communications — who can hand over to the field supervisor
If SC supervisors unavailable a constabulary team leader can take control
In extreme circumstances this maybe a police employee without constabulary powers.
What must happen if in cases where the pursuit controller is not is not a police comms constabulary member or command is passed to a field supervisor?
It must be identified in weekly comms report and assessed to identify wether any operational risks and issues require further action.
Who retains overall control even if command has been passed to the field supervisor and can take back control at any time?
