Falernum legend
Bacchus, appeared disguised on slopes of Monte Massico. Given hospitality by farmer named “Falerno”. Offered honey, milk, fruit but had no wine. Bacchus rewarded him by turning milk into wine and slopes of Massico into lush vineyards.
