Median Close Up
Denotation - showing head & upper half of body (shoulders)
Connotation - It shows facial movement and some body language.
Close up
Denotation - showing head
Connotation - It shows facial expressions for the person to see how the person feels.
Low Angle Shot
Denotation - It’s when the camera is low looking up
Connotation - This angle makes someone look big & powerful
High Angle Shot
Denotation - it’s when the camera is up high looking down
Connotation - This angle makes the person look small and victimised.
Two Shot
Denotation- two people in one shot
Connotation - It’s good to see two people’s reaction or how they respond
Over the shoulder shot
Denotation - someone closer up and others in front, like having a conversation and being recorded over one of the persons shoulder.
Connotation - Get an idea of the conversation and feel like you’re part of it.
Establishing Shot
Denotation - Shoes the scene of the place.
Connotation - Gives an idea of what’s happening and where it is.
Extreme close up
Denotation - It’s when the camera has zoomed in loads
Connotation - Shows facial movement very clearly
