Relaxation Therapy
Thoughts and feelings influence the production of chemicals that circulate throughout the body and convey messages via cells to various systems within the body.
Complication applications of Relaxation Therapy
- Lower blood pressure
- heart rate
- decrease muscle tension
- improve well-being
- reduce symptom distress in persons experiencing a variety of situations from medical treatment
Limitations of relaxation therapy

Medication and breathing
An activity that limits stimulus input by directing attention to a single unchanging and repetitive stimulus so that the person is able to become more aware of self.

Imagery
Is a body therapy that uses the conscious mind to create mental images to stimulate physical changes in the body, improve perceived well being, and/or enhance self-awareness.
Limitations of imagery
Increases anxiety and sometimes occur when imagery us used to treat post traumatic stress disorders and social anxiety disorders. Closely monitor patients when using therapy.
Biofeedback
Is a mind body technique that uses instruments to teach self regulation and voluntary self control over specific physiological responses.
