Calvin Cycle: Photosynthesis Flashcards
1
Q
Step 1: Carbon Fixation
A
CO2 binds to RuBP sugar with help from Rubisco, then
6-Carbon molecules splits into 2, to produce
3- Carbon molecules called (PGA)
2
Q
Step 2: Reduction Phase
A
with the use of ATP+ and NADPH, 3- PGA is converted into G3P
3
Q
Step 3: Carbohydrate Formation
A
G3P changed into carbohydrates (sugars)
4
Q
Step 4: Regeneration Phase
A
With the use of ATP, G3P+ATP are used to make RuBP, which begins the cycle again.
5
Q
Calvin Cycle
A
MENTION!!- occurs in stomato of plants cells called chloroplasts
