calculus is defined as the calcified deposits that are found attached to the surfaces of teeth and other solid structures in the oral cavity
what is the apperance of supra gingival calculus?
creamy/white, yellow, may become stained
what is the consistency of supra gingival calculus?
soft and usually easy to remove
where is the location of sub gingival calculus?
within gingival sulcus or periodontal pockets
what is the colour of sub gingival calculus?
Brownish/black due to Gingival Crevicular Fluid
how would you detect calculus?
radiographs - sub gingival
direct vision
probing
floss
what instruments would you use to remove sub gingival calculus?
Periodontal hoes
