Clients duties - commercial

A

make suitable arrangements for management of project
appoint principal contractor where there’s more than one contractor
appoint principal designer where there’s more than one designer
take reasonable steps to ensure designers / contractors are competent
provide info & instruction
cooperate with others in project
take reasonable steps to ensure principal designer & principal contractor meet their duties
ensure construction phase plan is drawn up before construction starts
ensure principal designer prepares an H&S file
if a notifiable project, notify HSE & display on notification on site
ensure H&S file is passed on if client no longer has interest in structure
