C4 Flashcards
What is relative atomic mass
It’s the most common weight of all isotopes
How do you calculate relative atomic mass
(Mass of isotope1 x % of abundance of isotope1) X (Mass of isotope2 x % of abundance of isotope2) / 100
What is relative formula mass
It’s the mass of a compound and then sun of the relative atomic masses of the masses
- relative formula mass
- no big numbers over 1
What is Avrogandros constant
6.02 x 10(23)
We used it to see how many moles are in a compound
e.g CH=2 atoms 2x(6.02 x 10(23))
How do you work out moles
Moles= mass(g) / Ar or Mr
What must the line be drawn with at the bottom if the filter paper and why?
It must be drawn with pencil as it’s insoluble and won’t dissolve in the solvent and won’t make the results inaccurate
