9
Q

Describe addition polymerisation (3)

A

a process in which many unsaturated alkene monomer molecules react together to form saturated a polymer which only contain single covalent bonds

The reaction causes the double bond in the monomer to break and each of the two carbon atoms to form a new bond

Requires high pressure and catalyst
