Mixture
Different materials are placed together but each material in the mixture keeps its own properties.
How can a mixture be separated?
1) sort by hand
2) magnet
3) filter or strainer
4) melt it
5) add water to dissolve it, then evaporate the water
6) add water to float it

Solution
a mixture in which substances are spread out evenly and will not settle. Example - salt water
Solute
The substance that is dissolved. Example - salt
Solvent
Substance in which the solute is being dissolved. Example - water

One or more types of matter change into other types of matter with different properties
