C/W Panel Flashcards
Twist Grip
Turn Twist Grip to FLIGHT position
continue flight
ENG CHIP
takeoff prohibited until Turbomeca checks are complete
reduce collective
land ASAP
low power approach and landing
be prepared for loss of engine power
ENG P light
eng oil pressure low
check oil pressure guage
low or nil - autorotate
normal - land ASAPL
MGB P
main GB pressure low
reduce Collective
LAND ASAP at nearest ldg site
max 55 min at 70 kts
MGB TEMP
main GB oil overheating > 115C
airspeed to 70 KIAS
monitor CWP
if light extingishes, land ASAPL
if light remains on, land ASAP
MGB CHIP
reduce collective
monitor MGB T and P
Land ASAP
TGB CHIP
avoid prolonged hovering
continue flight
HYDR + SERVO
LIMIT light may be on if LH circuit failed or during load factor maneuvers. The remaining circuit allows continued safe flight and landing.
HDY 1 LH circuit (limit may come one)
HDY 2 RH circuit
maintain level attitude avoid abrupt maneuvers maintain bank angle less than 30 IAS below 110 kts Land ASAPL
SERVO
jamming of a distributor valve on main servo unit
LAND ASAPL
BATT TEMP
batt temp above max
BATT OFF check U Bus Voltage normal - land asapl above Umax Batt ON GEN OFF unnecessary eq OFF LAND ASAPL
BATT
BATT comes on if the DC system is supplied with external power.
check BATT ON yes check voltage on VEMD Land ASAPL no turn BATT ON continue flight
GENE
If the battery fails, the VEMD will go out and only the analogue NR indication will remain.
(or NR/N2 indication is lost)
Max KIAS 100 kts -2kt/1000”
GENE comes on if the DC system is supplied with external power.
Avoid autorotation, perform a shallow approach with a cautious landing.
check Ubus on VEMD Check GENE ON If OFF: turn on If ON: check GEN reset CB in Reset GEN then ON if restored - continue flight if not restored - GEN OFF unnecessary eq OFF monitor VEMD ubus Land ASAPL
FUEL
quantity 15 minutes at MCP remaining
LAND ASAP
avoid large attitude changes to prevent eng flameout
FUEL P in flight
low pressure
reduce collective fuel pump ON land ASAP low power approach and landing BE PREPARED IN CASE OF AN ENGINE FLAME-OUT.
FUEL FILTER continuously on (pre-clogged)
FUEL FILTER BY-PASS OPENING LEADS TO CONTAMINATION OF THE FUEL LINES AND THE GOVERNOR, WHICH MAY INDUCE N1 OSCILLATIONS, LIMITED POWER OR EVENTUALLY FLAME-OUT.
Fuel filter pre-clogging level 2 reached LAND ASAPL MONITOR N1 on VEMD If N1 oscillations occur: LAND IMMEDIATELY
FUEL FILTER
Flashing at idle or during starting or shut down
Fuel filter pre-clogging level 1 reached.
One flight of 3 hours maximum flight time can be performed before maintenance action
LIMIT in high speed cruise or steep maneuvers: Main servo unit maxload reached, Max rotor head stress reached, or extreme longitudinal control position LIMIT may appear associated with HYD 1 in case of hydraulic failure
ReduceCollective
ReduceCyclic to reducespeed or load factor
continue flight
LIMIT in rearward speed or hovering in high tail wind
LIMIT may appear associated with HYD 1 in case of hydraulic failure
Cyclic REDUCE rearward speed
Cyclic REDUCE tailwind component
continue flight
PITOT
heat not operative
monitor airspeed indicator
continue flight
HORN
aural warning not operative
check Horn ON
yes - failure
no - turn Horn ON
continue flight
DOOR
one or both cargo doors unlocked
Airspeed to 70 kt
LAND ASAPL
Low rate of descent and approach
INST LIGHT
one or both inst light circuits inop
CONTINUE FLIGHT
NOTE The dome light can be used as an additional instrument panel lighting.
P2 OVHT
(temp > 90C in heating ducts)
Demisting function is degraded when P2 bleed is cut-off.
Press OFF on T Dial on ECS panel check P2 or P2S on VEMD after 1 min check P2 OVHT light Light OFF continue flight Light ON close P2 manual valve Continue flight
In case that external visibility becomes significantly degraded LAND ASAP
Eng Fire
Lower Collective
Airspeed 70 KIAS
autorotate
Emergency Fuel Shut Off Handle AFT
Check Fuel Pump OFF
Engine Start Selector OFF
after landing
BATT OFF
Rotor Brake ON below 170 rpm
evacuate and fight fire
Engine Fire on Start
Engine Start Selector OFF Emerg Fuel Shut Off Handle AFT Fuel Pump OFF Crank for 10 Sec BATT OFF Rotor Brake ON below 170 rpm Evacuate and fight fire
RED GOV in flight
RED GOV LIGHT ILLUMINATES - MAJOR GOV FAIL
On VEHICLE page: FF and END
This failure can also result in loss of N1 and torque parameters on the VEMD.
check flight parameters
EBCAU engages automatically and
Yellow Gov light illuminates
avoid abrupt collective pitch changes
maintain N1 >80% when Hp
RED GOV on Start
RED GOV LIGHT ILLUMINATES. MAJOR GOV FAIL
Engine Start Selector OFF immediately
YELLOW GOV - Continuously ON
Yellow GOV light illuminates minor FADEC failure
This failure can lead to a constant NR of 394 rpm. In this case tail rotor control margins are reduced.
Avoid hover with wind from left side and lateral flight to the left
avoid abrupt collective changes
maintain IAS below power off VNE
LAND ASAPL
on ground, do not start engine
YELLOW GOV - flashing at idle or during start/shutdown
Yellow GOV light illuminates minor FADEC failure
Governor redundancy failure,
no impact on governing function
Start-up procedure: abort start,
see maintenance manual
autorotation training: cancel training, return to base
