- Germany accepted the borders defined by the Treaty of Versailles, giving up claims on Alsace Lorraine
- They agreed to work together to settle disputes peacefully
- Agreed not to go to war and if the treaty was broken, the other countries would support the country who was invaded

Why was the Locarno Treaty significant?
A
- Germany felt safer since the Treaty of Versailles left them vulnerable to attack
- Represented an end to German resentment towards the Treaty of Versailles
- Many countries saw Germany as a peaceful nation and were allowed to join the League of Nations
- Marked a failure for the League which was not involved, although should have been at the forefront of international agreements
