Q

What are the two main disadvantages of metals?

A
  • They can corrode when exposed to air and water (oxidation - rust)
  • They can get tired when stresses and strains are repeatedly put on them over time (metal fatigue) which can lead to them breaking which is dangerous e.g. Planes
