Chronic inflammation of bronchi and bronchioles leading to permanent dilatation and thinning of these airways

A
CF, primary ciliary dyskinesia, Kartagener’s syndrome
Post-infection e.g. measles, pertussis, pneumonia, Tb

What are Sx of bronchiectasis
A
Cough with sputum, intermittent haemoptysis, finger clubbing, coarse inspiratory creps, wheeze

A
Sputum culture
HRCT
CXR
Do serum IGs, CF sweat test, aspergillus, IGEs too

A
